Professional Experience
Dr. Mangold has over 20 years in Computer and Information Security experience across all industry sectors including critical infrastructure, healthcare, defense, intelligence, retail, cyber insurance, and more. Dr. Mangold was a security consultant for the past 10 years, supporting hands-on operational and strategic efforts for Fortune companies as well as several high-growth startups. Prior to that, Mangold worked as a US defense contractor, where he supported IT and Security operations for various agencies, including the US Army, Navy, Air Force, DHS, and Federal Law Enforcement. In addition, Mangold served as an adjunct professor of cyber security at the University of Central Florida and has a highly technical background that includes incident response, forensics, software security, hardware security, and more.
Industry Leadership
Dr. Mangold is the Past President of the Central Florida Information Systems Security Association, a director with Security BSides Orlando, the founder of the Central Florida Cloud Security Alliance, and Co-Chair of the Central Florida OWASP Chapter. He is also a member in good standing with ISC2.
Civic
Dr. Mangold is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of the Florida Cyber Alliance – a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to building the security workforce through STEM education and training. Since 2013, Mangold and his team have conducted cybersecurity summer camps for high school students and supported the local security community to help build the next generation of IT and security leaders.
Mangold is also the founder of Feed Seminole, a local non-profit organization dedicated to stocking the food pantries of local public schools, helping ensure that children have what they need to be successful in our schools.
Education
Dr. Mangold received his Doctorate in Computer and Information Security from NorthCentral University, his MBA from Troy State University, and his Bachelors in Computer Science from Troy State University.
